I write this post with a heavy heart. A friend of mine I grew up in church with was killed last night in a motorcycle accident. I haven't seen him in a couple of months because of my sporadic church attendance or maybe because of his, I'm not sure. We weren't best friends, we never talked on the phone, we didn't hang out outside of church but that doesn't make the pain any less.
I'm sad because I know I'll never see his smiling face greeting me with a handshake first followed by a hug. I grieve because his 3 younger brothers no longer have their role model around. I'm heartbroken because his mother has to bury her 25 year old son. I'm sorry for the guilt his girlfriend must feel. But most of all I'm terrified. I'm terrified because that could have been me. If my life here on Earth was taken from me right now, would I die in Christ or would my soul be lost.
I'm crying because I'm going to miss my friend, I'm crying for the pain and hurt his family and friends feel, and most of all I'm crying for myself and people like me who are playing with their salvation. Those of us that dabble in sin, living our lives for Christ when it's convenient for us. Lord have mercy on our souls....
Nikki i'm soooo sorry for ur loss.. :-(
ReplyDeletedeath of a young person, or person in general, always helps to shed life on how we view and live our lives. At any moment we might not be here.
I'll keep u in my prayers and pray that ur heart is comforted.
Love u much!
I'm sorry about your friend girly :(
ReplyDeleteDeath is definitely hard, due to the loss and the wake up call. Living for Christ is not always the easiest decision but it's worth it!
I'll pray for the family and for all of us that we die to Christ every day, so that no matter what we can see our love ones when he returns.
Love you girl!
