Do it yourself....

Today I embarked on something that is totally out of my nature. I actually did my hair myself instead of going to the hairdresser...*gasps*. This will surprise everyone who knows me because I sit in a Dominican stylist's chair religiously every Friday not because I'm high maintenance but mostly out of necessity or so I thought.

As I blogged about here, I'm going natural and continuing to blow out my hair every week just wouldn't be healthy not to mention it's summer and once a drop of sweat hits this scalp its a wrap. I contemplated for a week or so about what I would do because I'm not a hair person at all! I mean I pay people to do it every week for goodness sake. So I took it youtube and there are thousands upon thousands of hair tutorials for people transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair and I picked one.

Yesterday I went to the beauty supply story and got all the products I needed and I must admit I got pretty excited but my enthusiasm ended when it came to detangling my hair this morning. But once I saw how nice my new growth was I got happy again. My anticipation is building now. I can't wait to see how it turns out. If it's a #fail, I will be not be going to church in the morning, I'll be making my way to the hairdresser instead. Hey you gotta pray for the best but expect the worse. Let's just hope my do it yourself didn't go wrong.
